Sodexo has scooped four awards at the inaugural Foodservice Management (FSM) Magazine Awards.

David Mulcahy, Sodexo’s craft and food development director, received the People Development Award; Thomas
Jelley, Sodexo’s corporate citizenship manager, was given the CSR Award; Fraser Sharp, Prestige Scotland general manager at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, won the Event Catering Award; and Nigel Bryant, Prestige London account manager, took the Area Manager of the Year Award.

Mulcahy was praised for putting together an extensive craft development programme aimed at developing culinary and managerial skills for chefs at all levels of the company and Jelley was singled out as a person who has taken big steps towards developing a culture of corporate and social responsibility at Sodexo.
Bryant was recognised as an exceptional individual who had secured contract extensions as well as new business.

Sharp, who is responsible for the sales and running of all catered events at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, a Prestige Scotland client, was commended for his outstanding professionalism, leadership and financial success in achieving “significant growth” over the past two years.

The FSM Awards pay tribute to professionals in the contract catering sector of the foodservice management industry. A glittering awards ceremony took place on Monday 21 November at the Royal Garden Hotel in London. It was attended by a total of 386 people from contract catering companies and industry associations such as the Association of Catering Excellence and the Local Authority Caterers Association.

Phil Hooper, corporate affairs director, Sodexo UK and Ireland, said: “This is a fantastic achievement for Sodexo and a testament to the hard work and talent of our people. The four winners are truly praiseworthy individuals who have received the best endorsement of all – awards judged by their own industry peers.”

Alan Dewberry, publisher of FSM Magazine, said: “We launched the FSM Awards this year because it was clear that the talent and dedication in our industry was sorely lacking an awards programme solely focusing on the foodservice management sector. The inaugural awards had tremendous support, with over 300 nominations. “
